Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

How long do therapy sessions last?

50 minutes, with longer options of 90 minutes available if there is a clinical need to do so. Some people prefer their final session to be longer to consolidate their learning.

What type of therapy will I receive?

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). CBT is based on evidence from research and clinical practice.

Fees

£55 per session.

How do I pay for therapy sessions?

I require the payment for the session at least a day in advance of sessions to secure appointments.

How are sessions delivered?

Currently all online via google meets platform. A link will be sent out before each session.

Do you offer sessions covered by private health insurers?

Not currently but I plan to in future

What will the first appointment look like?

A friendly but open conversation about what has brought you to therapy and exploring your presenting issues. If we are able to work together, we will mutually agree on a therapy contract that sets out clear guidelines, expectations, and boundaries between us.

Cancellation policy

I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel an appointment over 48-hours in advance, I will not charge you for the missed session. If you cancel after that, or if you cannot attend, you will still need to pay for the appointment as we have committed the time.

Are face to face sessions available?

Not currently but I am planning to in future. Numerous studies have shown that remote CBT can be as effective as in-person therapy for a wide range of mental health conditions.

Social media

In line with other therapists, I’m unable to connect on any social media to maintain a professional boundary between us.
